Quest is a leadership development experience for selected high school juniors. This opportunity is designed to provide students a time to develop their potential for servant leadership and ministry. Local congregations recommend students to Quest. Interested students complete an application process. Accepted students participate in a multi-phase experience involving contextualized leadership development that includes an overseas experience.
Quest Fast Facts
· The Q1 team consisted of 12 members who traveled to London, England, 1999-2000.
· Q2 began our partnership with the Dominican Republic, which continues today.(- two Covid years)
· Beginning with Q8 a multiple location format followed. Teams have traveled to: South Africa, Central Asia, Uganda, Scotland, Nashville, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Panama.
· Quest 20 was able to complete travel just days prior to the beginning of the pandemic.
· Q21 wore masks, adjust their format, and were able to travel during 2021 to Puerto Rico.
· Students and chaperones who attend the BCNE events YEC and CrossWalk give a mission offering annually to support Quest and Quest projects. The 2022 YEC and CW Offerings topped $8,200.
· Over 90 congregations have recommended students to Quest.
· More than 70 adults have served on the Quest faculty, about half Quest Alumni.
· To date, 505 students have completed the Quest experience over the 24 years.
· Q24 has 20 students from nine congregations.
· Quest alumni are found around the world and include: teachers, a carpenter, professional chefs, pastors, Fulbright scholar, a medical researcher, engineers, doctors, physician assistant, service men and women, seminary graduates, a music promoter, missionaries, wives, husbands, parents, students, youth ministers, CrossWalk staff, active Christ followers.
