Azul day two completed. Today we had a very packed day. We visited three communities, each with its own school, church, and lively children. We got to re-visit some kids we had already met in the first stop, but this time with more hugging, choreographed dance routines, and a huge appreciation ceremony for the leaders of Children of the Nations. Today was an incredible experience for our students as they were pushed outside their comfort zones and learned to communicate despite a language barrier and experienced what it is like to show God's love through hugs, holding hands, and piggy-back rides.
Our trip so far has been great though there have been some bumps in the road. Our final adventure of the day included stopping for sugar cane and a peel out that resulted in a blow out. (I had never seen a tire being changed that quickly before!)
Today's devotional was Ephesians 1. We discussed how God had called us before the creation of the world, and in so doing it, knew we would be here, what we would be doing, and how it would be used for His glory. We are experiencing how impactful it is to be marked by the Holy Spirit and how that goes a long way in terms of communicating God's love.
We as leaders are experiencing great joy in watching the students as they grow and are used by God in ways that they had never imagined.
