Our Sunday adventure started off waking up early and packing our suitcases to leave Shoreline Hotel.
We began our day attending Baracha Church and while we were there, Chris kindly introduced us to the congregation. The team led the church in a worship song with Gabby playing the drums (Don't worry Lucian, we got a video) Ashley and David then shared their stories with the congregation.
We left the service early and traveled to Sezela where we attended Emmanuel Evangelical Church. Again we were introduced and shared a song. Ashley and Gabby shared their testimonies with the congregation.
The church shared lunch with us. We have had the chance to try many of the South African Indian food. It can be spicy, but they kept it a bit mild for us. Everyone has enjoyed the food. This gave us great opportunities to talk everyone. We learned a lot about their culture and ways of life.
Our last few moments with Chris and Michele were spent at their house, as we talked with them and their sons. Their son Lance is just one year older than us. It was interesting to talk about the differences and similarities of our countries.
We then made the short drive back to Durban. We did the drive in the dark upon our arrival so it was great to see it during the day. The last church we attended was Westville Baptist Church, and it felt a lot like home. Everyone tried Rooibos (Red Bush) tea and most of us loved it. (not David!)
We ended our night with a lot of laughs at dinner (and on the bus!) with our new friends Deb and Barry from Westville.
We can not wait to tell you more about how God is working through our team! We will post more pictures tomorrow.
See you soon
