It's been a long day for us!
Our contacts TJ, Patrick, Claire and Jess met us at the airport upon arrival, giving us the opportunity to share breakfast with them (some of us even opted for a traditional Scottish breakfast that includes a popular dish known as black pudding - we'll let you Google that one). It was a good time of introductions and fellowship.
After breakfast the team was split into two groups for a bit of friendly competition! Both groups were given a list of places to find, fun facts to learn, tasks to complete and photos to take -- a true scavenger hunt that served to teach us a bit about the area, help us explore the city center and step outside our comfort zone to engage with the people here. Patrick wrapped up this activity by talking through some of the items on the list, and comparing the spiritual climate of the area we're serving in to that of New England. The observations/notes mentioned will help us to be mindful as we move forward with approaching and engaging those God puts around us.
We finally had the chance to settle into our rooms late in the afternoon. We took some time to unpack, lay low and freshen up before heading to dinner at a restaurant around the corner. It's just after 10pm here, and all is quiet. Time to rest up for an early start tomorrow! Pray for energy, boldness and expectant hearts in the coming days.
Thanks for following along and joining us in our anticipation!
