Monday -
The day began with some touring. We took some time in the morning to visit both the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the Glasgow Cathedral, which are deemed landmarks within the city.
After lunch, we headed back to DBC for an afternoon training with Claire - our final training session of the trip. These times have been such a blessing for the group! Following training, the team was split up in pairs to conduct spiritual surveys of those living and working in the neighborhood surrounding the church; the rain was relentless, but so was the group. What joy!
In the evening, the girls were invited to Claire's flat (apartment) for dinner and conversation, and the boys were sent out to the pitch (field) to play a game of football (soccer) as part of a Monday night outreach.
Tuesday -
The team was split into two groups for ministry with two separate churches: one group went to DBC to prep for and help with an ESL class; the other partnered with a ministry team in the neighborhood of Govan, handing out invitations to a church that's being planted in the area.
In the evening, the team regrouped at DBC for a community dinner, and many of the ESL students from class returned with their families for the meal. It was a sweet time of fellowship and conversation.
Wednesday -
Today the group traveled to Refuge to help with a litter-pick - the team paired off to clean up the grounds of the community center that the church meets in.
After lunch, we had the opportunity to hear from Peter - the pastor at Refuge - about the state of the church in Scotland. We spent some time together in prayer asking God to bring about revival in this place - changing hearts and transforming lives.
Earlier tonight we got to share dinner with Claire and our new friend, Natalie. Natalie is currently the only teenager at DBC, and was so encouraged by the night out with others her age.
We've seen God work in so many ways these past few days, and we're so grateful for the privilege it's been to serve here. Tomorrow we'll make our way out to the countryside for some team fun, but we can't wait to share all about our experience! Thank you for all your prayers along the way!
