In addition to the pre-sale, most of the meat was sold and over $1000 was raised to help two of the leaders in the congregation attend an upcoming conference in Chicago. The group was so encouraged.
The Questies were given the opportunity to watch and then participate in the preparation of Poi,
a staple food for many Hawaiians. The process is very specific and considered sacred.
Some may ask the group when they return if they attended a luau. The group has experienced each aspect personally and learned hands on the traditions of the Hawaiian people. Better than paying for a luau! And this has all been done with the good news of God's gospel the foundation.
After we finished up at the church we got to spend the later afternoon and evening with some down time. A short time at the beach then off to Honolulu to watch the sunset and have dinner. The sunset was beautiful and dinner was at the famous Rainbow Drive in for local fare of Shoyu Chicken and Loco Moco.
Looking forward to worship tomorrow with our Hamama friends.
