We got an early start with training at the church and then right into ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), another free ministry that Dennistoun Baptist provides to the community.
It was a full house and everyone got to play a part, jumping in when there was a need and using their gifts (and their native languages) to help the ESOL students during their lesson.
From the afternoon on, we were in full prep mode for Community Dinner, a free meal that DBC hosts for anyone in the community to join.
Some of us grocery shopped, some handed out invitations on the main street, and some cooked!
The room packed out quick and we got to engage with new people who came to the meal and catch up with guys that we played futbol with last night, amazing!
What's also amazing is all the creative ways this little church sanctuary is being used. In the last 48 hours, it served as a sanctuary, nursery, classroom, and dining room!
Wednesday holds more opportunities for community connections and we're sure God has more in store still!
