After full night of sleep our team was rested, renewed, and ready to explore some more! While it was a day full of pivots and a need for flexibility, we made it to Stirling, which is about a 40 minutes commute from Glasgow. We met up with TJ and some more new friends from the church, Jeremy and Calum, to tour Stirling Castle. The architecture and scenery was breathtaking and the team enjoyed learning more about Scotland's rich history.
After the castle, we got a bite to eat and headed back to Glasgow for the evening where Jeremy graciously hosted us at his flat! We got to worship together, try some unique Scottish snacks, and played some games to end the night. We also had the privilege of hearing from Bri and Grayton (church interns from the U.S.) as they shared their stories of God's work in their lives and the way He called them to mission in Glasgow this past year. It was so encouraging to hear from two young people who are truly living surrendered to God's will and also for our students to see what living life on mission could look like after high school.
Today has helped us better acclimate to Scottish culture and also get a glimpse into their deep religious roots and also see how the spiritual climate has shifted greatly since then. We are so excited to join Dennistoun Baptist Church for Sunday worship tomorrow morning. Please pray that our team would continue to be stretched by God outside our comfort zones and truly engage with the people we will get to meet and be impacted by!
