Today was the last day and cleaning in Rosa’s house! She surprised us with a great meal and just enjoyed each others company before we left. Greatful for the week and the opportunity we had this week!
So this morning we headed to work again and it was a super fun and productive day of painting the edges and cleaning out some of the yard. We then bought some more souvenirs. We had reservations for an amazing , authentic Puerto Rican dinner and it was delicious.
Tuesday was our more intentional day, where we spent the first hour of our day prayer walking the neighborhood where we were working. We split into two teams and had multiple positive interactions with several neighbors and prayed with them. We also made great progress on the widow's house which we have been renovating for the last two days. The roof is no longer leaking after we sealed it, and the outside of the house is looking nicer with the painting too. Our team is really enjoying our time here and enjoying one another's company. We are grateful to be able to see God at work in Puerto Rico.
Today was our first day of labor and we were blessed to be able to serve a woman in the local community by prepping for a paint job on her house. It was a time of laughter, singing, and hard work. The water shut off during showers and it was quite eventful of figuring out what to do.
Today we had the privilege of attending Iglesia Bautista El Mesías where met many amazing people. From there we went to the beach where we saw beautiful views and played soccer and volleyball. After lots of fun in the sun, we went to the La Guancha Boardwalk where we got to hear live music and buy souvenirs. We wrapped up our day by going out to dinner at a delicious restaurant called Tablas where we continued to enjoy the company of one another!
Saturday night was our first day with Send Relief and learned about hurricane Maria and the impact since 2017. We met a few kids and connect with them.
