We have had quite the emphasis on prayer this week! Today was a first for most of our students as we spent the morning prayer walking in a local mall. As we walked we took the time to pray for overarching issues in the community such as addiction, broken families, and gang violence. We also were attentive to the Spirit and prayed for people highlighted to us as we walked around.
From there, we traveled to DBC's new church building that they are currently renovating in the neighborhood, Riddrie. DBC plans to not only plant a new church in this building but also put a cafe in it to engage the local community and help connect them to the church. It was so exciting to see and hear about DBC's plans for expanding their ministry in greater Glasgow and reaching more lost people.
Lastly, we finished up the night hosting a youth event! Our students had the opportunity to enjoy the company of local teens close to their age and learn about what it is like growing up in Glasgow. Some students even stepped out in faith to engage in some spiritual conversations as well. It was a fun ending to another very long day.
Please pray that God carries our team through the end of our trip and that our students continue to lean into the ways God wants them to serve and learn!
